Liverpool Everyman and Playhouse are now accepting applications for the September 2011 intake of the Young Writers’ Programme. YWP 2011 is an opportunity for young writers (aged 16 to 25) to develop their playwriting skills within a supportive and challenging environment. The Group creates a forum for practical exploration and discussion as well as entering into a dialogue with practicing professionals, gaining a solid grounding in the practical and vocational aspects of playwriting as well as the unique opportunity to learn from those with years of experience.
Members will work closely with the Theatre’s artistic team under the direction of the Literary Manager. There will also be opportunities to meet professional writers, directors, designers and actors, and, of course, other young writers going through the same development process as you.
The programme runs for one academic year and is free. The initial term is 13 weeks starting Tuesday 13th September 2011. The group will meet every Tuesday from 6-8pm at the Everyman Theatre.
Applicants are asked to submit an example of their writing, and a shortlist will be chosen for interview.
For more information or for an application pack please email literary@everymanplayhouse.com
with your full contact details and 'Young Writers' Programme Application' in the subject line.
Applications must be returned by Friday 19th August 2011.
