Fast Forward Producing: The Whole Story

Aspiring Producers come from many areas of the film business and beyond. Each will have a privileged insight into one or more aspects of the kaleidoscope of skills and knowledge vital to producing a feature film. But few will have had access to all stages of producing, from the initial idea through to revenue collection. And beyond that first feature, none will have the road map to their second and subsequent features.
'Fast Forward Producing: The Whole Story' is the Skillset-supported programme that pulls all the necessary information and insights together.
Programme Structure

At the core of Fast Forward is a series of nine workshops, sequential but self-contained. The twelve selected Producers will learn from recognised industry experts the detailed reality of each stage of production, and how it connects to the stages before and after. The modules are scheduled across a period of approximately six months, allowing as far as possible for participation by both freelancers and those in full-time employment.

Industry mentors will guide the Producers as they develop their portfolio to the point where their projects are fully researched and ready to seek development finance. In addition, the Producers will have an opportunity to produce an LFS Graduation Film, one of about 35 to 40 made each year at the School. Uniquely, the programme incorporates a module on Creative Identity, Self-Presentation and Career Management for Producers, developed specifically for the LFS.

Those who are unable to commit to the whole Fast Forward programme may apply to attend individual workshops instead. Six of the nine above modules are available for individual application. Click here for details.
